As a founding member and one of the driving forces, since 1992 CESA has been actively contributing to Maritime Industries Forum initiatives. A common vision for a sustainable future of Europe's maritime industries is of strategic and vital importance to Europe, and in particular to major coastal regions with a rich heritage of know-how and innovative skills. CESA makes continuous contribution with written submissions, speeches, presentations and debates at conferences on matters related to maritime and industrial policies. In addition, CESA is often invited to participate in the actions undertaken by the European Maritime Safety Agency on topics like safe return to port, ship recycling, air emissions, compliance, inspections and others. On a wide range of matters CESA recommendations are based on the best practices and aiming at raising standards to the highest possible level so that the European citizens are offered safer, securer and cleaner maritime passenger and goods transportation services.
